My Project
I am redesigning and refurbishing a room at the Detroit Rescue Mission Ministries shelter to help women and children. The Detroit Rescue Mission Ministries is focused on rebuilding lives of others. They are committed to the success, livelihood and sustainability of Greater Detroit and the community. My room gives women and children a safe, more colorful and happy encouraging space to be in.
About my project
What is a Gold Award?
The Girl Scout Gold Award is the highest award in Girl Scouting. A national award, with national standards, it represents a girl’s passion, leadership, creativity, and effort to making her community locally or globally, a better place. It is equal to Eagle Scout rank for Boy Scouts. This recognition is earned by less than 3% of Girl Scout Seniors and Ambassadors. The Gold Award is often described as “what you want to be remembered for” in Girl Scouting. For many, the leadership and organizational skills, and sense of community and commitment that come from “going for the Gold,” set the foundation for a lifetime of active citizenship.
